Been spending a fair bit of time at Castle TVR/Lotus (Stanstead Mountfitchet) recently since other half has purchased one of those Lotus Europa thingies which you wear like a glove and can play footsie with driver at 70mph 
Anyway, I was fascinated to watch the evolution of a body off chassis repair on a Chimaera over the weeks. Really surprised just how bad the chassis can rot at the top and give very little evidence from below (THE VISIBLE BIT!) Quite amazing to see the car without a body and just a rolling chassis with engine etc. Popped in the other day and they are now doing a body off on an S3 if anyone is interested in having a nose! The guys are more than happy to talk about what they are doing. Think the mechanics relish the project rather than just the usual servicing... This has also prompted me to get underneath my car this month to have a really good poke about. At least since this type of work is now becoming more frequent the prices are falling.
Oh, and keep your hands off the Aston Martin V8 Vantage if you pop by!! It's mine...just as soon as i've had a meeting with the devil...Re selling soul.
