The type fitted to Jeffsy car is now on sale via the classifieds and ebay.

Who else has them fitted ( a blue is also shown) ????

Is the chassis stiffening caused by the roll bar noticable on road driving ????

Do they fix to the mounting brackets only fitted to post '96 cars ?????

Obviously as a saftey feature invaluable.......

Just in two minds of traditional type ala Ballistic Banana's or twin hoop as above.

my brother and i are probably going to get one each very shortly,
spoke to them on the phone a month or so ago, they were going to send me pictures of a new style one with a bar running straight along the bottom
for more side impact protection.i was also going to have it in the body colour of the car in my case chianti starmist, but my brother is going for silver in a viper blue chim.
for me they just answer all the problem with lack of rear vision with a standard type roll bar, they are well priced, and the chance of banging your head in a normal accident looks quite slim if you have your head rest set right.
great product, i think they will sell loads.also diy fitting seems straight forward.
ps i think they will also fit harness bolts for you!! result
always wanted to feel like i was in a racer!!
means i won't have to change the seats now to get support while cornering.

I had good look at Jeffsy`s after it was fitted, I think it would certainly help stiffen the chassis up a bit, but as for protection I personally doubt it, in a sideways shunt then possibly, but if you were unfortunate enough to roll the car I dont think the rollbar will help that much as it is below the top of your head, unless your a midget of course, hehe plus if you ever need to remove the trim over the central tunnel area, I`m pretty sure the roll bar will have to be at least partly removed as the bottom rad of the 2 hoops passes from one side to the other just over the trim.

so it has the problems a standard roll bar then........ the rollcentre (or what ever they are called ) does not get a certain approval cert because it is not high enough to protect head.

I also thought the same about trim removal as you Clive..... and the more I think about it how often do you actually take that trim out ?????

It seems to take an inch or two of legroom, important for me. Will ask Jeffsy for confirmation if this is an issue for those considering this.

I'm afraid, after watching the rollover bar debate for 5 years plus, I think the clear answer if you worry about rolling your Griffaera is to chop it for a Cerbera... irked

Hi all

- No probs with legroom for me. Im 6' 1" and it hasnt affected my driving position. In fact I have the seat slightly forward of the roll bar. This was part of the design brief when we put the thing together

- Vision out of rear totally unimpaired

- Point taken about the centre console but again when I considered this, how many times do you remove this? I hadnt in over 2 years

- The bar can be made higher - those who know mine would see that there is still an inch or two to spare without affecting the roof open/closing

- Cant remember on the insurance but it wasnt a big issue from memory

NB Im not on commission ...but wish I was!!!

That looks like the one that had a tree fall on it.

Actually looking again that would make a lot of sense - there doesn't seem to be any bonnet or boot damage.

I went for a Rollcenter Roll Bar after having a little off. This worried me only slightly but IMHO is there just in case;
The Rollcenter one is made to FIA standards although doesnt have its ticket.

It stiffens the chassis..( only slightly).possibly help ( if only a little, but that may be the differance) in a side impact as it sits just behind seat near the seat belt.

Re the Rear Vision impaired lot, yes it does impair it but come on you cant see much out the rear view mirror anyhow, even more so at night your so low you get dazzled( which the bar stops hehe . Driving big trucks and toys that only have side mirrors perhaps its just me and used to just using side mirrors. And shouldn't you rally be concentrating on whats in front with life saver look and side mirror glance when making manoeuvres.. Debateable i know wink

No, Didnt with with the two I have been with, In fact nothing I have done to my Car has had an impact on the Insurance unless it is performance enhancing? To get over the Book figures of 340bhp will take some time wink

Does anyone get any noise transmitted from the fuel pump thru these roll bars ?
