Weird Mirror Problem
Discussion
My electric mirrors have a weird problem. The NS mirror moves up & down fine but not left to right, whereas the OS mirror moves left and right fine but not up and down! I checked the NS motors once upon a time by swapping the wiring around in the door when I had it apart and that worked fine, I just don't get any left / right power when I checked the connectors. Presumably the same (opposite) is true for the OS door in that I'm not getting any up / down power?
I've had a look at the bible wiring diagram but can't seem to figure where the problem lies
. As the two mirrors combined do the full range of motions I figure the joystick connections are ok - could it be the selector switch that's the problem? Mine is the black rocker type below the joystick if it makes any difference?
Any help gratefully received! I've got a few other jobs planned (like full dashboard removal) so I'm starting with the least daunting.... 2 down, don't want to think how many left to do

Check the mirror glasses don't catch on the mirror housing's.
If they do then remove the glasses by tilting them to maximum up and center position.
Then look under the lower edge of the glass for a catch that you move sideways with the tip of a screwdriver.
When that's released you can remove the glass.
The glass is attached to a plastic frame by a big sticky pad with an electric heating element. Unplug two wires.
The heat softens the glue, allowing the mirror to move in relation to the frame.
That's usually why the glass is catching.
Carefully re-align the parts and join them with a glue that won't soften with heat.
Re-assemble is reverse process.

Glass is definitely nowhere near the housing so it's fundamentally a wiring problem.
Should have added that I reconnected the wiring to the NS mirror back as I found it, so it moves according to the joystick movement, as does the OS mirror. Any further suggestion or expansion on previous suggestions?
