Removing heater fan

Has anyone done this?

I've removed the dash, battery and heater box, but I can't get the fan assembly out. I've removed 3 or 4 rivits and a lot of sikaflex, but it still refuses to come out. What have I missed?

it could just be the fact that its very happy to stay where it is
