Xenon HID headlamps for Griffith

Has anyone fitted HID replacement bulbs to the Griffith headlamps?

I realise the twin lamp conversions are popular but I prefer to keep the headlights as original as possible. As HID's consume less power than conventional Halogen bulbs heat would not be a problem, maybe finding space for the ballasts etc. might be. Any thoughts?
