My "doors locked" LED has never worked so whilst the dash is out I thought I'd replace it. I've tested it this morning and it seems to be dead so I'll need to replace it.

I've had a look on the Maplin website and the only thing similar is this Maplin but the legs appear to be solder type rather than mini spade types as per the old one?

Has anybody bought a suitable replacement with black bezel elsewhere? I did start browsing Farnell's website but there's a lot to browse!! Does anybody have a part number for Farnell / Maplin / RS?

The LED pulls out of the black bezel, so you don't need to replace it - just the LED.

Really? eek How does one go about it - long nose pliers and a gentle tug?

Crikey, sounds painful! wink What is the crushing force required to destroy the average LED btw? whistle I don't suppose you know the particular spec of the replacement too by any chance?

It doesnt matter which one you order, you can re-use your old bezel as the led section just pulls out.

Reassembly is well under way, the rear end is back on Toyo to concrete and the front end is short of nearside w/bones and then both uprights.
Brake pipes are on, fuel pipes next......

Gotta oil the diff and then it'll be done.

Took a D/A to the body last week, started prepping that for paint.......

Chatsworth here we come (hopefully)......

Ian , where in the southwest are you?

rolleyes

Idiot question time if I may... Should I be buying AC or DC LED's? Logic tells me that DC electrical system = DC LED's, however the red ones in my dash are DC and the green ones AC silly

Does it not matter with these small voltage / current circuits?

Are these leds the same as what is required in the dash for the battery / oil pressure leds... or are they smaller...

I don't have a door lock led so I can not compare

yes AC/DC doesn't seem to matter either, mine are a right mix.

Mine has never worked either. The LED isn't faulty and the door lock button works as it should.

Is there anything that normally causes this?

As I never lock the doors when I'm inside it doesn't really matter, but I would like to get it right.
