I also like the look of this bonnet on "Bruce All Monkeys" car as you can not get much darker than black
and since my car is a dark or deep red
(Not Brown :tossers: )
I think it might look ok on my motor.
Look guys at the end of the day I've taken the best bit of the Chimaera to solve the problem with the Griff. At least the vents are still a part of a TVR and not a part of some "other" car.
If anyone out there has any ideas for a second generation bonnet please feel free to contact me and hopefully I'll have one ready to show at the Growl.
And Pasco,if your interested in the Vented Bonnet I'll do you the same deal as last summer give me a call http://www.damagedtvrs.co.uk/contact.html
Cheers FIBREON

IIRC we had quite a long thread on this before, even tho I obviously have that style of vents I'm of the personal opinion that they are more cosmetic than functional. They may vent when at a standstill, but I am not convinced the work well at speed, when I tagged mine with woolly tell tales (keep that quiet!) they just flapped a bit - no sign of airflow out of the bonnet in my case. On the downside you get so much crap & water ingress - I would have no qualms about blocking them up
Someone bonded some vents in the bonnet that looked more effective to me. I do seem to be at odds with others though, in that I think when your engine is pushing the car through the air thats when it should be cooled - not when it comes to a standstill and you have loads of heat soak. That again is why I am a great fan of oil cooling its cooled when the engine is working, taking away the cumulated heat soak effect when you come to a halt

Dave you should have done a Smoke test while driving then you would know if they work at speed

You might get 20 seconds of info before you completely loose total visibility and crash the car but at least we will all know if the vents work

I do all the time

If I can't smoke I'm going too fast (I mean theres nowhere else you can indulge these days!). I measure thrills by how hard I've bitten down on the filter BTW

Can someone photoshop the bonnet vents on a Jaguar XKR onto a black Griff please.
They have the right shape to pick up other styling cues.

There is also a Griff with a bonnet vent right in the middle of the bonnet - of the type which looks a bit like a letter Y with the top filled in, if you see what I mean.
I can't remember where I saw the picture but it was fairly recently - Sprint perhaps.
Welcome back Ian I can't remember where I saw the picture but it was fairly recently - Sprint perhaps.

Off you Cheeky Monkey
someone had 2 vent/concave scoops in the central area of the bonnet which are the best I can remember...?
