I've just got my new main beam units to replace the old cloudy ones and match up with my new Sportmotive ones bounce

Before I head out to the garage how do they locate? Do they just sit in the rubber "boot" from the front or do you have to remove the old units from the car and fit from the rear?

They are only held is as complete units by the three bolts that go through the bodywork and are secured by wingnuts (these are the beam position adjusters also), a doddle to remove.

So just measure the amount of protrusion of the wing nuts, undo and replace? My new ones don't have any mounting hardware, I'm assuming that transfers over once you've removed them?

Can't you just remove the outer rubber retaining "seal" on the 500's?

Ooer... Dunno, she's still on axle stands! I've just got some aviation canopy polish to clean up the perspex covers before I finally fit them. Look like a good bit of kit so far, but I've added some black 2mm double sided tape to seal the pods to the perspex cover, just to be sure.

As for the main beam units, there are three locating lugs on the new ones but I haven't been out to the garage to figure out what they attach to and if you actually need to remove them from the car. Doesn't look like much of a job if you do but I like to know what to expect before I start.

My lights are held in place by the big rubber band round the light and the mounting plate. The annoying thing is you have to take the whole thing off to get the light fixed in you can't do it with the mounting plate in-situ so you have to re-adjust the light.

Valeo 082348. All the markings are identical to the ones on the car so I'm assuming they are a TVR "original" part. £123.22 the pair all in delivered to my door with bulbs fitted.
