My 400 pre-cat has a weeping raditor, what sort of a job is it to get this sucker out or should I use the dreaded "rad-weld". Cheers

Not too difficult, you need to remove the alloy header tank and then it comes out with a bit of a wiggle. Remember to cover the front end with a sheet or a rug or two to protect the paint.

Don't put rad weld anywere near it it gums up all the wrong holes and is a temporary fix at teh best of times.
If it can't be welded then a recore is the best way forward.

You ever looked inside an engine that has been subjected to that stuff ?

I just took the Rad out on a 500 so may be different, but I suspect not. Remove washer bottle and alarm sounder and unplug fan leads. Undo and remove hoses, I took the all the hoses off as they were due for changing anyway. Then remove two 13mm nuts, one each side and lift it out. It is however surprisingly heavy so best to get some help when lifting it clear so as to avoid scratching the paint. While it is out you can get at the anti roll bar bushes a whole lot easier.

That's strange, after reading on here how heavy it was I couldn't believe how light it actually is even with the fans on.
As you say though not much of a job to get it out. Hardest part was a seized nut on one of the bobbins and getting the air filters and hoses out of the way.

ETA just remember bottom out first, well on mine it was

Looks like I'm going to perfect the technique. I've just fitted it and ran it up and it's still leaking. Which was nice

You mean the fans help to lift it up, like a helicopter? Neat trick!
