I want to cover these as we've killed 2 AFM's recently and the elbow I've been meaning to get around for a while. Whatever I do for one I'll do on them both.
This is what I have looked at for the AFM which could be sewn and velcro'd in place, like the SC Power one.

The above may be OK for the elbow but this may be better:

Any thoughts?

Shielding this area is one of my priorities, be interesting to hear if anyone has used it.

You can get sticky backed stuff similar to that you've put up links for FFG
For the AFM, which it will stick to easily, this could be a good solution. I've used it to re-cover the inner wing heatshield and although it looks far too thin and not up to the job its been fine.
Should only take about a foot square for the AFM don't you think

I also used the same stuff to cover the starter motor and that is still in place.

This is what I used;

Ian,
I'll have to pop over and have a look.
I was thinking the stuff on the afm you could sew each side, cut to shape and velcro it either side of the connector plug.
I am near you tomorrow so could pop over around 5pm, assuming you're a man of leisure at the mo?

Why have you killed them? Would it not be a better idea to fix the problem instead of a symptom?

Best thing?: Bubble wrap the tubes then use lengths of oven foil folded into a width of 2". Wrap the whole thing in that.

Nup, not kidding; had my tubes oven ready for years without hitch. Looks fine, works perfectly and costs fook orl!
