Brake hose question.
Discussion
I'll be grateful for some advice from those of you who have changed their brake hoses.
I've bought a set of Goodridge stainless steel braded brake hoses for my Griffith 500. The pack they came in is labelled TVR Griffith.
On removing the old hoses (front) and comparing with the new I can see that the end which screws into the brake caliper is different. On the new hoses each end is identical with about 20mm of thread and a slightly tapered face. The old hose, at the caliper end, only has about 10mm of thread and a square face. See pictures below.
My question is, can I use the new hoses, or should I source some which exactly match the fittings of the old ones?
Thanks. Andrew.

Are the threads the same?
Even the square end has an taper on it. Is that the same taper as on the new fittings?
The taper end is the sealing face, so this has to be the correct angle. The extra length of thread on the new fittings will not be a problem.

I'm presuming that the original hose's had a copper washer or similar to get them to seal against the calliper?
If so then potentially you could cut the end off on the thread on the new hose and use another sealing washer to replicate the original set-up.
However what you might find is that the new hose will screw in and seal on a conical seat in the caliper.
Have a trial fit and see

Thanks for your reply. No, there was no copper washer. As can be seen in the picture, the rust indicates that only about 10mm of the old thread screwed into the caliper, and that slight taper made the seal.
I'm fairly sure it will be alright, but I'll be a lot happier to get confirmation from someone who's seen the same thing.
They should be M10x1, with a bulkhead fitting at one end (which yours are). The angle at the caliper end should be 45 degrees, not 37 (JIC) which yours also appear to be. The easiest way to check it's the correct angle is to put it against the old fitting and with the two angles touching the pipes will align at 90 degrees if they're both 45 degrees.
