Hi there

As the title says - what grease should I use on the driveshaft Ujs (Lobros ??)
Driveshafts are off the car - is it just a case of jamming some grease into the joint between all the bearings, or should I fill the rubber gaiter with the stuff ??

Any advice greatfully received
Cheers Andy

You need to buy CV grease for the joints.

According to the Sierra Haynes manual ,it states 85grams on the back of the joint(boot side) and 15 grams on the front side(toward diff or stub axle).

Moly grease . . .

Put it into the palm of your hand and work it in to the CV where the races and bearings are . . . It's a bloody messy job . . .

I used nearly one whole tin of moly grease to do all 4 CV's on mine when I did it . . . Never weighed out an amount of grease for CV's, but if you can then it'll help to understnd the kinda quantity you need.

Make sure you really work it into them, and the CV's can be articulated quite a lot which helps . . .

Bit sad I know, but I spooned the CV grease into food bags to allow an appoximate weight to be used.
This also made for a cleaner application of the grease, as you can then apply it like icing to a cake(squeeze the bag with a small cut in the corner)
