Hi to all

I appreciate that in the main the radio is of secondary importance to the sounds required whilst driving these cars, but for the sake of completing the finished look of the interior I find myself needing a drivers door speaker grill. Are these unique to the Griff ?? or did they buy them in from a manufacturer ??
Any assistance tracking one down would be gratefully appreciated.

the grill is part of the speaker rather than a TVR part, and you will need to find out the type that are installed in your car. To find a replacement would probably be hard without getting a new set of speakers?

Not easy to find the correct size either . . . ypically TVR. Although there is generally space to hack another hole if needed.

Due to any lack of vertical challenge my lengthy limbs tend to kick it offf the speaker getting out, so I've been looking for a replacement, which is the same size, without such an easily detachable grille.

Without luck frown

If you find any let us all know would you wink

It might be worth posting the make/model/size details of the passenger side one on here. You might find somebody has changed/upgraded theirs and kept the old ones "'cus they just might come in handy" smile

I've replaced mine for a set that is both the same size, same terminal connectors and has a ridgid grill (no more bending meshed) and sounds better too. Can't remember th emake, PM me is you need mo to look them up.

Hi, picture taken in the dark a bit, but does show the speaker. It is a infinity reference, which has a adjustable tweeter, which is handy as the door speakers are not in the most ideal place. They sound much better, but to be honest you can only really tell when the car isn't moving and the engine is not running. I am sure this will surprise no one. big plus point is that they are a couple of years old, and they have withstood being caught by my feet more than a couple of times. I took the old speakers to the car stereo place and got them to check that the size was about right before buying.

Thank you all for the suggestions, I will attempt to post a photo of the passenger side speaker and maybe someone will recognise it.
Seems a shame to replace them for the sake of asthetics.

Just how do you attach a photo to these forums anyway ???

If they are the original fit Pioneers, I might have some grills (and speakers too)...

hehe Indeed. The stereo from my Griff has been in a cupboard in the spare bedroom since day one!

Probably worth giving Carl Baker a call.

If anyone has taken a few out and might have bits left it's probably him.

Otherwise he probably knows the answer.

BTW, how are the original fit Pioneer grilles fixed onto the speakers? I don't know if they are threaded, push-fit, etc and I am reluctant to deploy the flat bladed screwdriver until I have some idea!

Hoover.

Push fit... You can just about grab them with your finger tips around the circumference and pull them out if you're careful.
