just make sure whatever you look at has been lovingly looked after, regardless of it being high or low mileage, so long as the seller has spent his/her money in maintaining the car to a high standard.

there are people such as Rob Ingleby who have great experience in tvr`s who will check the car over for you for a fee, just make sure the chassis is in good condition, probably the main thing to check for.

find out where your local tvr meets take place and go along, people will be more than happy to show you around their cars and have a chat.

personally, I`d prefer to buy from someone I felt was an enthusiast, looked after and maintained the car no matter what.

the griffs are great cars whatever size you go for, be it a 4lt pre cat, a 4.3 or a 5lt, have a look around, and get some test drives from dealers to help you decide.

Exactly what Clive f has said really... plus there are some great buyers guides on The Griffith Pages & on Steve Heath's site.

depends what you want ot for. as a road car, all very quick, 4.3/5.0 a bit more so than a 4.0

later ones may handle/be a bit better sorted. BUT they are all OLD cars, so the oldest car could have the newest, ie uprated/upgraded suspension...

so treat each car you see on it's merits alone, and condition.

Personally, I would go for one that is 'original' (ie stanadard condition, but all the bits that have warn out replaced wink not original- knackered), or mildly updated, (ie the hidden bits uprated, dampers, brakes) a lot will probably have leven type accesories,(more of a dealer option, standard type fit that a 'modification')
ie mine had then fitted from new, from the supplying dealer, parts on show in the dealer.

Power steering is a nice to have, but by no means essential (arguably a 'bit' easier to catch the back end if you have a moment)
Aircon rare, more to worry about, does get hot under the bonnet.

Coulour/interior can make a surprising difference in price.

CHECK THE CHASSIS

Can recommend Rob Ingleby. He found mine and it's a good-un. Nice bloke too.
