Would you service?
Discussion
Dilemma I have is that it has been nearly 12 months since my Griff was serviced (12k) but I have done only 2k miles over that period (I know, I know) due to the missus being pregnant and our first baby in the house earlier the year...
I have always had the Griff serviced every 12 months/6k miles, and on top of that I have the oil changed every 3k miles/6months.
Having only done 2k miles (with an oil change in between)in the last year, I am thinking that I will be throwing money away by having another service done now.
What is the sensible thing to do please.

I would get it done. Worth the peace of mind & service history.
I had only done 2k in the last 12 months but Racing Green services & replaced perished mounts, corroded suspension arms, etc. I am very happy in the knowledge that its been well looked over.
I know its expensive & I like spanners but it makes me feel good !

Offords in Cambridge do an interim service for £240 which is perfect for low mileage examples. I alternate between their full service and the interim service to keep costs down.
I agree with the principle of this. Other service centres are also offering this as a viable alternative now.I will probably try Techniques at Stotfold next time. They seem a good outfit & worth a try.

Back in the late 80's my uncle had a Mercedes SL 500 which he religious had serviced at his local dealership. He took it in for a service after only covering a few hundred miles since the last one..... they told him to go home and put some more miles on it ?!?
I agree with Simon.b that the these cars are better off being driven regularly and service kept up to date, but at the risk of getting a flaming.... if money is an issue due to new baby and all, and considering the car has only done a third of the mileage of the service interval, then I doubt missing or postponing one service is going too hurt the car... assuming it already healthy and not in need of any major work that is..
Or..... just step out for a 4000 mile blast to buy some milk

no ones going to knock a mileage missed by a month or two......as said previously some garages offer sensible priced servicing for cars which do not attain 6000/mile per annum....,,
my car was not serviced at all last year BUT it it only did about 1000 miles, and had lots of work done which included a few oil changes etc..... so i passed on servicing.
