Would a stealth cam, original induction & an off the shelf 'tornado' chip work well on a 500?
I'm looking at changing the cam at some point in the near future, (intermitent ticking when engine returns to idle, lasts about 5 secs, dissapears if revs are raised slightly. scratchchin )not looking for great numbers (very happy with the way it goes) just want it to do the best it can with what it's got. I prefer low down grunt with a V8 to revvyness.

Ta in advance. thumbup

Dont think i would spend all that money on the chip for such a small benefit if any,the cam sounds a good choice thoughwink

I have 500 Chim, just put in Stealth Cam plus ACT induction kit (minus, so far, AFM to Plenum hose as apparently their's only fits onto the carbon fibre plenum they supply - bit of bullst they could clarify on their website i believe!

I have had no new ECU - difference is huge, car runs smooth, no shunting, very driveable, will hold 30mph in 5th (if needed, why??) and pulls like a bd from anywhere.

I was down on power - as evidenced by two worn rear lobes on original cam once extracted)

Car now runs like a dream and pulls from anywhere - would recommend stealth without hesitation - have done hard 600 miles so far. Track day to follow - look on general tvr gossip pages.

Cam was from V8 Developments £375 I think, induction kit from ACT about £185, fitting obviously varies from DIY to around £80/hr if you go to TVR main dealer. Neil Garner is highly recommended and significantly less than this for TVRCC members.smile

I'll have some change? I've still got £1000 in the "car repair fund" from last year smile
Not that I need it doing yet but I've always got this in the back of my mind, at 49k miles on the original cam!

I hope I am Pasco but please see below email from Neil Garner - I'm hoping to get over there tomorrow - work permitting and we'll see!

Hi Ian,

I now have your touch up paint on my desk.

I have spoken to Tim at act regarding the inlet pipe and the bore size is bigger to fit the carbon plenium but he reassures me it will squeeze down on a std plenium!!

If you out this way we can have a go??

Regards

Neil

What's wrong with that Shoe man ?

As i read that it says that it was made slightly larger as to fit the carbon plenum but will and can be tightened down onto the standard plenum which Neil will prove in a matter of seconds when you visit him yes

Am i right ? What gave you the impression from Neils letter that it only fitted the carbon plenum ?
