Master Clutch cylinder needed for Griffith 4.3 (1993)
Discussion
Hi Folks,
long ago that i have been here. reason: my babe had an accident with a biker (unfortunaltely one of those with pedals :-( but he fortunately had an insurance and so nothing bad happened). More fortunately not even to that Mountainbiker who crashed directly into my Griff (direct Front Crash).
So therefore my babe (aka: my beloved 430) had a long time to live in a dark and dirty garage (because of all these Diesel-driving and in the same garage parking dumbs). But since the weather is becoming better here, i decided to let him into the wild again and to be repaired (a griff looks like a perfect babe, but is more like a good friend - hope you agree)
then i encountered the following problem: gave the clutch a push but nothing happened. but also no feedback at the pedal, i simply pushed into the empty room. and the reservoir was completely empty. so my mechnanic decided to liver it up and to check if he could give it some "noticeable" pressure. The answer was: NO !
So we think, that the cylinder (better complete spare part) near the coupling pedal has gone to hell.(should be called the Master Cylinder). The slave cylinder is ok (was renewed 2 years ago).
And now the (hopefully) simple Question: Does anybody know from what car the master cylinder was taken from ?
I could imagine that it was Ford or Vauxhall, as so many Parts of the 4.3 Griff were taken from their Parts-List.
Desperetaly needing your Help.
Don´t let a 430 living in Germany die ;-)
Many thanks in advance and my kindest regards

Hi Jerko sorry to hear of your bad times. I thought i had the replacement part on tGP but dont seem to . perhaps going to someone like http://www.racetechdirect.co.uk/ might be better. But of course that would only be after you have checked eveywhere.

Pretty sure (from years of TR6 ownership) that its the same as a TR6.
0.75" bore.

I'm sure you had the Girling SP2102 seal kit, but loads of old women have insisted on changing the cylinder which is a TVR specific item IIRC.This thread may be of help http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

The clutch master cylinder is a girling unit, with a 0.70" bore, not the 0.75".It has a non std thread size on the outlet, compared to a generic 0.70" unit, but is still readily available through all of the usual outlets, and it doesn't cost that much!(around £45 plus delivery)
