Fitted a new gasket recently - I replaced what appeared to be a composite type, which was de-laminating quite badly, with a simple tin one - I was quite surprised to see that the ports on the tin gasket, (just a standard Rover V8 item) were the same size as the ports on the Griff. Easy job once all the plumbing to the inlet manifold, the plenum/ inlet manifold, is removed -
oh and then it all need to be put back...

Just a sense check question.
Are there any special procedures (tricks of the trade) to carry out before fitting a new valley gasket and then the inlet manifold etc?
It helps if you get a good quality gasket, and end seals. The 'oe' gasket is now a steel one which is coated both sides for a good seal. Its also worth getting the proper curved end seals rather than the cheaper straight ones, which again will help you get a better seal.
