Bosch cux ecu box life expentancy...

What's the cux bosch ecu life expentancy in good order? Is it posible eventually find new ones to plug in in place of an old one? Have these ecus changed along the years in the griffiths? i have a model '96 griff, would its ecu box be different of newer models?

The ECU should outlast the rest of the car as long as it's kept dry and not bashed around too much.
