Hi.

Need to replace the Manifold Gaskets on a 96 Serp Griffith 500. Is the gasket size TVR specific due to larger ports .. or will the std 4.6 gaskets fit my Griff without modification .. or do I need to get out the Dremmel and enlarge the std Rover gaskets to fit?

Many thanks...

I may be wrong, but I think you`l have to enlarge the ports.

Just did mine again Monday night (went on the way to Chatsworth), I used the orange gasket material one’s from ACT and they had to be fettled a bit.

Last time I fit these though, I’m going to try reinforced ones next time, don’t know how well they will fit.

Cheers,

Simon

I have the reinforced gaskets from ACT (with metal on either side). Fited fine. Best gaskets I've had.

I fitted new gaskets a while back - I think they were 'Victor Reinz' or something.
The gaskets fitted the manifold fine and fitted the exhaust ports fine.
The problem was the exhaust headers didnt match the exhaust ports in any way.
In the worst case I would say that the header overlapped the port by about 7 or 8mm.
Spend a few dull hours grinding the manifold headers to shape and then enlarged the gaskets to suit.

I have absolutely no idea if this made any difference at all !!!
