Decided to drive to work in the Griff this morning, turned the key and suddenly – nothing happened. Ignition lights come on and the battery is fully charged, it’s as if the immobiliser is still on (immobiliser light is off). This happened to me a few weeks ago. Drove to a mates house without any problems, pulled up outside and turned off the engine. I then had to move the car but the damn thing wouldn’t start, same symptoms as now. I used the car last Saturday and it ran fine. Any ideas?

Do you get a click from the starter? If not might be worth checking the trigger wire is still connected!

There is no click from the starter (just silence), I’ll check the connections when I get home – thanks for the idea.

Had the same problems with my old Chim, turned out to be a broken connector on the main battery feed to the starter motor, it had just snaped due to fatigue. You will probably have to get under the car to check.
