Hi, recently noticed when I stop the engine with both cooling fans running and I want to restart after a couple of minutes the engine doesn't crank at all. This only happens when the cooling fans kick in when I switch the ignition on (the engine temp is still 90C). When both fans stop or when the fans don't have to run anymore the engine cranks no problem and the brutal fun on the open roads can resume. You can imagine this is irritating when there are a lots of people waiting at the petrol station for me to leave.....and I visit that bloody station every 120 miles...40liters.
Could it be a low voltage issue on the battery or is there another problem somewhere else, the Volts meter shows 11-11,5 Volts. I've got the 2 stage cooling fitted.
Any help is much appreciated.
Bastian

Your battery isn't good at that voltage. The extra current demand from the fans is too much for the weak battery to be able to provide enough to start the engine,by the sounds of it.

It depends what volts the battery returns to when Mr Beers trickery has gone to sleep. Sounds to me like the fans are drawing too much juice, unfortunately TVRs don't cut the power to non essentials when crankingwink

Have you got the Hot start kit? as that may help.

To be honest I'd say its time for a new battery as mine cranks OK with the fans on

Totally agree, mine has the 2 x fancontrol, and with everything on, including lights and fan running, no problem to start when hot.

It is very common for the hot start to happen when fans, lights, etc are on. The hot start problem is due to low voltage to the solenoid, so i would suggest a relay "back" into the circuit before spending money on a new battery.
