I started a Wiki which until recently was a sticky at the top of Griffith forum(any idea why its been un-stickied???) which was then added to bny a few others.

I think it's fair to say it's horses for courses. The 2" raise means you don't need to disconnect the exhaust, under bonnet wiring or the braking system so you're not likely to break exhaust studs etc... The downside is access is tight, but it's do-able. It depends on what other jobs you want to accomplish at the same time if any.
Quite happy to discuss either option to see which suits you best.
However... Outriggers can be replaced without lifting the body! I can't remember who, but a couple of places can cut the old ones off and weld new ones in place from underneath. Basically they weld from below leaving a V shaped gap which is then filled after the top side of the outrigger has been welded from below.
