I'm going to look at a Dark Metallic Blue Griff 500HC on Saturday, currently advertised on PH and located in N London. I have been in touch with the owner about seeing photos of the car before I have the prospect of a 280 mile round trip but he does not have any available.
Please PM me if you have any comments, I would prefer it if they were not posted in an open forum for the owners sake.
TA! much appreciated.

It doesn`t take much to take a few photos and email them to you, doesn`t seem very helpful of him considering the trip and time it will take you to see the car.scratchchin

and a bit odd that someone owns a Griff, and has no photos of it!

Really, really, fks me off people who just want to do absolutley naff all when trying to sell their car. The amount of cars I have seen that have just not been prepared for sale, i.e. a quick 5 minute wash or full of crisp/sweet wrappers, paperwork all over the shop. rolleyes

shout You have to work at things sometimes !!

I agree with everyone else that it's unreasonable for him to expect you to do a trip like that totally unseen, that would make me instantly suspicious, but then I am a cynic hehe

yella....(thanks for the TVRCC tip btw)

I have contacted the owner about same car.....its been on a while and listed previously. I also would need to travel forever and a day and with the less than positive feel I got I decided not to.

I was not convinced its worth the trip either.

Guys,
Many thanks for the replies and the PMs, most helpful.
It is unfortunate that there are no photos, it is off putting and now leaves me thinking whether to skip this one and concentrate on some of the others.
Maybe time to talk to that nice Mr Agger!

Hi Martin, how's the new car, hope you are well pleased!!!

He has been answering mail very quickly and been very accomodating in other ways but it is still this issue of the lack of photos.
Being an idiot I will most likely make the journey as agreed as much as anything out of curiosity!!

The excuses you make when looking for a new car!! The wife still doesn't realise that I'm moving up to 5 litres from 2.9 and sh thought that was bad enough hehe

Martin, you can go off people quickly, lol. I too was having a laugh with the Griff. Until last Saturday late evening coming out of Thixendale. Seems the clutch fork has worn through the pivot ball and jammed. Looks like motor or tranny out. No prob with either. It's finding the time to do it. Wish there was a quick fix?????????

Glad you're enjoying yours. If you're anything like me, you'll get past the first month and many miles until your confidence with the Griff is through the roof and you'll be treating it like a four wheeled superbike. Totally awesome. I've always loved my bikes a little raw. Buell, 916, and the Griff sits in perfectly!

All, I've decided not to go tomorrow partly due to feeling sh_te with man flu and a family do in N Yorks tomorrow from 3pm but, expressed my concern especially lack of photos. Have said if photos are made available then I would re-arrange for next week otherwise I'll be looking elsewhere, the benefit is that you guys have provided substantial help in my decision.

Rigga, I am really pleased for you and soooooo bloody jealous, I should have driven down to see Andy on the Saturday Night! b_gger, b_gger, b_gger;D

Never? well I do try but not always can I be 24/7 on the net and I do as you can imagine get a very large number of emails every day, although some seem to be for some enlargement products and pills ;-)

Anyway always happy to help where I can when I can and sell a few nice TVR's on the way

Martin,
I've had a mail from him, usual cheek! told him I want an immaculate 2001 SE, in Red Bull blue, from the final batch with no more than 10k on the clock, so it's nicely run in and he can go up to oooh!! £4k tops.

I suspect his reply might be along the lines of "dementia setting in?" but I know he'll come up trumps.;D
