Flat Battery - Breaking In
Discussion
A trickle charger will charge a completely flat battery but it could take several days, I recently charges a battery from flat and it toof 4 days.
If the light stayed red on your Accumate I'd suggest that it's likely your lighter socket isn't working, try connecting directly to the battery terminals.

I'm not sure about Accumates, but if it is really flat it may not start charging if it has a polarity checker in place. I found this out with one of my battery chargers, had to connect a good battery in parallel to get it going. If the light stayed red on your Accumate I'd suggest that it's likely your lighter socket isn't working, try connecting directly to the battery terminals.
Something like this happened to me once i had just done over 200 mile drive to a friends house in scotland bumped the Griff up ont his drive and and got out locked the car , Had a nuce weekend on the p##s went to get in the car and nothing , Got into the car and called the AA man out showed him the battery location he used a meter here there and everywhere and said he was clueless . Got the car towed to HHC and they found that one of the battery terminals had dropped off 10 minute fix .
Still got a ride in a big truck and a day off work .
