Found big puddles in Griff boot following night of rain and cannot work out where it's got in - the boot seal seems fine and there are no holes anywhere, but....wondered if the roof cover I put on for the night was the culprit? The rear flap tucks into the boot so has anyone else found this to let water in?

nope.
I usually find a little puddle has collected on the flap so you have to be careful taking the cover off or it pours that water into the boot, but I've not had anything soaked while I've been using it.

Yes, I have had the Leven hood cover pour water in to the boot, but is was because as well as the flap being inserted into the boot a small section of the hood itself was 'pinched' under the boot lid. I always double check now.

is the sealant around your rear lights perished or cracked?? this is a common problem for tuscan wet boots as well.

It is sometimes due to the shear volume of water coming off the vinyl roof cover and flowing in rivers down the boot gutters in the rear wings. the bolts holding the boot hinges can leak. There used to be some stuff called Seek'nSeal which runs down the thread of the bolts & seals them.
I still have some if you are in Hampshire.
I have just revived the thraed about water ingress into Griffs on TVRCC, though the original thread here is now more than 2 years old so does not come up on searches.

yesHad that myself, and some silicone cured it for me.Steve, did you only get the water ingress while it was parked up?In the past i've had terrible ingress from the breather holes on the bottom of the boot at either end, having driven in the rain.

thanks guys - I think it was from standing in the rain rather than driving in it, but I never knew about ingress up thru the boot so I'll certainly check for that next time I'm out in a monsoon. all other pointers are useful too and the most likely culprit is the vinyl cover being fitted without enough care - again next time I'll be more careful to make sure it's not going to funnel water into the boot! cheers
