Hi all,

After some advice on running in, got new cam (piper 285) and rpi stage 3 heads, new rockers etc basically a new to end. She is almost up and running again and need to know about running her in.

The cam needs to be runin for 20 mins or so at 2-2.5k revs with no idle. That I am clear on, but no mention of any other requirements for the new heads or rockers etc, will they need treating gently or ok to go for it after the cam has been run in ? I also fitted their head studs, which are torqued up to 80ftlb there is no mention of needing re torquing after 500 miles or so so i assume they will be fine. Any thoughts advice.

Cheers

Tim.

As you said - the cam needs bedding in - 20 ~ 25 mins at 2~2.5 K revs.. no idea allowed.

It an oil leak develops - turn off - fix leak and continue the run in time.

Rockers do not need run in.

The cylinder heads bolts could be checked after 500 miles if you like .. I checked mine when I did mine and nothing had changed - but if it makes you feel happier.
