Hi everyone!

I've been seduced by TVR and just bought my first ever TVR in a Griffith 500. I love it to bits and strangely, so does my wife. Recently i have become a bit over protective of it. I've only had it 2 weeks and have had my 1st problem with the radiator fans not coming on at all leading to overheating. I suspect its the Otter switch that need replaced, but am not sure. Can anybody recommend a garage in the Glasgow or West Central Scotland area who is worthy of taking my pride and joy to?

Dreadnought in Callender, they seem to be the best around. I know them independently away from TVR but they are highly recommended.

Thanks for that, I'm hoping to take the car to Callender for its service but was wondering if there is someone closer to Glasgow to save me the journey for minor/emergency works required to the car?

Hi Superali,

Just a word of caution, I tried Dreadnought, and it was like hitting a big wall. Just no interest in my requirements, would not even let me book in my car for a service as they had enough work on and didn't need any more! really poor customer service. Also heard they are pretty expensive, but never been able to have the chance to report on this!

Griff

PS Welcome to the 500 Griff club! Good choice of motor.

Thanks Griff boy,

I got that impression about Dregnaught when they took 3 days to reply to my e-mail and thought they would be expensive. Where did you get your Griffith serviced and where you happy with it?

Dont want to get into a war here, but i used dreadnought for my 12k service and new toyos recently, and found them spot on, not the cheapest certainly but they do know their stuff....And to be fair they have invested in a state of the art workshop facility....

Claire of Dreadnought is a Master TVR Technician. She knows her stuff, more than most! She has worked for Hylands Motorsport building the engines for the MG SV-R or whatever its called.

Difficult one with Dreadnaught, I have not heard any bad things about the quality of their work, although I have heard of TVr owners going down to of the North england dealers for a service, as even with the fuel and o/night stay it was cheaper than dreadnaught!

I was really put off by their attitude, I tried to get my car booked in for a service and variety of other work inc new camshaft and other upgrades, but they wouldn't even offer me a date, I was in no hurry as its my third car, so even a month away would have been fine, but they still wouldn't commit to a date, asked if they could phone me back when they had a slot and was told that 'I should call again in a few months to see if they had time to do the work' as they don't have time to call me back.

Like I said, no lack of ability and experience issues, just poor attitude and customer service. Guaranteed to put me off.

Very dissapointing.

maybe I live in the wrong area or have the wrong accent???

Am now looking at sending the car down south instead.
