Growl on all day sunday too.....or not ?

Its your duty to be there.
You're in Brum so no excuses.
There will be a fair bit still going on but as we've said a few will be travelling home come lunchtime (ish) but there will still be enough interest there. We'll be around until around 4.
We need as many Griffs as possible to continue wo be the biggest one model event.

I have never understood this new British mentality of leaving early on Sunday's. I blame 'car booters'. They set up stall at 6am, and they're all done and back home by midday. Well, it's rubbed off everywhere.
If I get the bike out on a Sunday, I ride until I'm so far away I'm knackered when I get home. 200 miles around obscure roads is my thing. My biking mates want to be at Walkington traffic lights for a 9am meet, and they're back home with their bikes tucked away in the garage before Country File's finished.
Chatsworth House on the Sunday, went in about 1.30 and 400 TVR's on the front lawn. Came out sometime after 3 and there were around 50 TVR's left. Waste of time. These events should be compulsory attendance until 5pm.

If we don't get the support then we may have to revert to a one day event.
A hell of a lot of work goes in by the organising team, giving up their own time and expense. It would be a shame if we had to go backwards after its taken 6 years to get to this level.

don`t get me wrong, this is in no way a critism of all the hard work you guys do, but if the venue involved something other that griffs in a hotel cark park I`m sure even more people may attend, and not be put off by iffy weather.A hell of a lot of work goes in by the organising team, giving up their own time and expense. 'Tis a goodly point you make Clive. There may be whispers of moves afoot for next year (not that that will be my problem) but Im not privy to what they are...
I was impressed by the way the Wedge boys finished the BBWF by haveing a Cotswold rumble and long languid lunch in the Cotswolds. Nice way to end it imho...
But they also had good weather too!

I was thinking of away for ettington altogether Graham, perhaps supporting a tuscan challenge weekend, at least we`d be supporting the tvrs racing, people can then camp at the circuit if they wanted, or find a local hotel ect.I was impressed by the way the Wedge boys finished the BBWF by haveing a Cotswold rumble and long languid lunch in the Cotswolds. but yes, good weather is always the thing that makes or breaks these things I`m afraid

Whatever you do you can't please everyone. If it were supporting racing I have no issue but to find venues big enough without driving between hotels and venues, safe car parking, and keeping people together for a period of time is a nightmare. The race dates keep moving so planning a date could be impossible and without the notice you won't get anywhere near the numbers. Plus the centrally located circuits are minimal.
Agree the weather is alweays a big factor - stood at a windy open race circuit is IMO worse than being at a hotel, where you can go inside and get a warm drink with decent loo facilities.
We will be on the look out for organising team members for next year so please feel free to put yourself forward.

I disagree Clive.
The GG has always been the best organised and most interesting meet of the year and its because it has the hardest working team of organisers making it bigger and better every year.
I can't wait.
Neither can I, well said Derek. Lets be positive and enjoy the whole weekend I say.The GG has always been the best organised and most interesting meet of the year and its because it has the hardest working team of organisers making it bigger and better every year.

Thoroughly enjoyable weekend, and is without doubt the highlight of the year

Good central location, Good accommodation, good area to group everything together, excellent pub within walking distance and excellent venue close for the friday night bash. It basically means that you can turn up friday afternoon, park up and everything is on hand until late on sunday when you go home, plenty of time to
No worries about drink/driving etc etc As the old saying goes, if it aint broke, then don`t try to fix it.
Certainly has my vote
