All, my Griff has what Ithink is a Meta 99T alarm. Is this standard? Anyway - the dam thing keeps going off.

Anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know what the alarm actually senses? I think it's just courtesy light/door switches and ignition. Does anyone know?

Any help appreciated it's driving my neighbours mad.

Cheers,

Neil

You'll probably find that it's water ingression into the horn or part of the loom.

The horn does have a plug and socket, I have found in the past that this when wet can keep triggering the alarm.

Hi - there's a completely seperate battery backed-up siren - checking this dismantling it - it all looks fine. Is this a non-standard alarm?

If it's the same as mine, as well as the switches etc. it also has a microwave transmitter under the centre console/T-section.

Not sure if they're original fitment, but standard issue today (Meta Aquila M99/M36T2 & Aquila microwave) by Carl Baker mentioned above. He did mine last year - top job.

ETA: WTF? Where'd that post go? confused

The sensitivity adjuster is below where your left elbow would rest. Need to take the T piece off (do with roof off) and adjust so it goes off around 18 inches abobve the adjuster. Too sensitive and it'll get on your tits (been there, done that). If its chirping maybe the sirens on its way out. Even more annoying as its seems to give up the ghost in the middle of the night!

I'll try Carl once I've tried a few things - I don't want to hassle him unless I'm likely to make a purchase of something. How do I get the T piece off such that I can adjust the sensitivity adjuster?

Neil

2 self tappers - one behind each seat, and ease up gently - not sure if its attached at the front but must be (no bible on me at the mo).
Have you got a bible as its detailed in there.

All, thanks very much for suggestions. I removed the centre trim section under the tunnel and turned down the sensitivity and so far have had no more problems.

Thanks for the very valuable suggestions,

Neil
