Not the '91 Motorshow Griff on Ebay....
Discussion
I just want to point out that the Pearl Yellow pre-cat on Ebay is not my car. I still own the '91 Motorshow Griff and as many of you know it is the genuine article and has appeared in some publications as such. The car on Ebay is another of three that were sprayed in the same yellow, but as can be seen in the pics is a production version. I have contacted the seller and tried to explain that his car is not what he thinks, but as he has just renewed the auction I guess he doesn't believe me. Apparently he is a member on here and was at the Growl, where he was informed of the cars possible provenance, possibly only due to the unusual colour. I have put a complaint in to Ebay as that was the only option left. Anyone who doesn't know, my car has a pre-production chassis number, was registered in January '92 (his was in March '92) and has quite a few differences to the production cars. The history of my car is very easy to trace, with only two private owners, the other being a long-time member on here. Other than any poetential fraud?? my main concern is someone will by it and later find out its not what they thought. I'm sure its a very good car and with the full respray and similar low miles is in very good condition, but it's not what it purports to be.
Al,
Think I know the car you mean, is it Derbyshire based?
I have the guys mobile number and e-mail address. He was at the Growl (I saw the car on the Thursday before and left him a note) and he said it was a 92 motorshow car, but I told him I didn't know if that was the case but knew there was another Griff at the 91 motorshow of a similar colour so maybe he got confused and thought that was his!
Anything I can do to help let me know.

Thanks Paul, I'm not sure where he's based to be honest. The fact I tried to explain the situation to him in two seperate emails without getting irrational is what's getting to me. It's more of an annoyance as far as I'm concerned, my car is not advertised at the moment as I have someone from abroad very interested, otherwise it could prove damaging. As I said before, I don't want someone buying it thinking they're getting my car.
This explains alot, I was looking at this car at the growl with a friend who is looking for one.
We both thought the colour was different, but only having seen Tweetys in photos we just thought it was an illusion.
It looks a good car, and the money aint bad,
but glad this has been pointed out by Tweety!
Cheers

I don't think it is the same colour is it although similar?
Al's seems lighter, but all I can recall was this is a pearly yellow (not tweety's), similar to the newer halycon midas pearl used on a few Tams, T350's and Sags (ie Yellow Perils).

Exactly FFG , we "assumed" it was just our eyes, we even "assumed" it had a different plate on now!Al's seems lighter, but all I can recall was this is a pearly yellow (not tweety's), similar to the newer halycon midas pearl used on a few Tams, T350's and Sags (ie Yellow Perils).

The chassis number was pointed out to me by Derek Smith when he was taking phots for an article, it was someting about the last few numbers, can't remember exactly.
Because the other car has been resprayed I assume it looks slightly different to the original colour, mine is quite pale, though not as pale as FFG!!!
