Which polish/wax do you guys think is the best to give you that great wet look? I currently use Autoglym product, there ok but i think it can look better. Don't really wont to go to the lengths of detailing, however do like giving the car a good polish.

Preparation is important.
If you fancy having a good go then buy a clay bar and some detailer to lubricate it. Gives an unbelievably smooth glass like finish.
Then I'd suggest Dodo Juice 'Lime Prime Pre wax cleanser', slightly abrasive and removes all the fine scratches and swirl marks. Then finish off with a good quality Carnauba wax.

Have a look at The Polishing Company There is a 'starter' kit on that link which would do the job. If you really want to push the boat out use their Supernatural wax, I bought a sample pot at The Griff Growl and it really is fantastic, not cheap but a noticeable difference in the depth of shine.

Happy polishing

Not meaning to sound patronising but there is a big difference between a polish and a wax. You need both to get a good finish and a clay bar I only use to prepare the surface ahead of polishing. After polishing I then wax. Polishing is what gives you the smooth surface and then wax seals it kind of, you can also get sealants/glazes as well.

The new wax from Autoglym is superb, I was given a pot and left it at the back behind the meguirs polishes and mothers waxes I use, but decided to give it a go and have been nothinf but impressed.

No not patronising at all, you're right I forgot to mention the polishing stage whistle doh!!
I use Mothers California Gold Sealer and Glaze for the polishing step.
I also use my California Gold Carnuaba wax and then applied the Supernatural on top.

I've actually taken to using Autoglym SRP again during the polishing phase. I went off it as it leaves quite a bit of dust but it's very good on micro-scratches. I tend to seal with Zymol Carnuba as it doesn't leave any residue.

I already use Autoglym car shampoo and super resin polish so I think ill give the HD wax a go. Might try a fine clay bar too.

Go with what used to be the PS21 Carnuba wax available at from the Polishing Company. I have tried Autoglym, Meguiar's, Mother's and this really out peforms the above. Using the paint Clenser after a claybar produces amazing results.

there are plenty of quaility products out there (and some rubbish too!) my fav is from Collinite their Auto Wax XL outlasts most other finishes and only requires a quick wash and dry to restore the deep gloss finish top stuff.
all so as mentioned in earlier posts spending time correctly preparing the paint surface (washing, claying etc) is the way to an excellent result and probably more important then the make of the LSP (last stage product)ie a cheap polish will look good on a well perpared surface whereas no matter how expensive a wax is used on a poor surface it will all ways look poor.

I use Autoglym for washing and polishing and the P21 wax (now called R222) - Looks fine and as I still have 2 or 3 years worth of wax left in the jar that's what I'll continue using wink

Yep...same for me. Autoglym to wash, 303 cleanser if/when required and P21s/E222 wax. I also use Renovo on the rear wind screen and metal polish I got from Mike at the Polishing Company for all my metal bits!
