boot catch

Having removed the boot catch I am having a bit of trouble getting the catch to line up nicely with the bit mounted on the boot lid. Would be grateful if one of you lot could take a look at the catch and measure approximately how far there is from the catch body and the boot lip, also is the catch mounted vertically or does it as I suspect lean inwards slightly.

Mine is a 98 500 but I guess they are all the same.

A pic of a boot catch would be superb help.

Sorry mate, not sure I have fully understood your question. The top of the catch (highest point) is 2.6 cm higher than the boot lip (including the rubber). Looks as though there is only one way to put the catch on and looks pretty vertical. Will take some piccys and post you tomorrow am. (98 500 too)
