Discussion
well, I`ve taken the plunge and have decided to change the rover lump for an ajpv8, I knew I shouldn`t have had a pint or two with Mike at this years growl, after chatting to him about the installation in depth I felt that for me its the way to go, so hopefully come next spring it will out on the road.
will put up a few pics once I get underway, with the amount of other jobs I plan to do as well, bigger front discs and calipers, and battery installed in the boot, it may well take a lot longer than I thought, and it may just test the wifes patience a little

Nice one Clive.. the world needs more AJP Griff's ..
TVR really should have offered it as a top of the range option.

,couldn't agree more. When you drive one you just keep asking youself why on earth they didn't do it,and also realise just what it is that the Cerb boys keep going on about so much!Much more power, less weight, better fuel economy, better driveability, and still 100%TVR,it's one hell of a car.I cant wait to see Clives install, his work is always superb and you just know it's going to be such a nice job
I see he's put his really nicely modded 5 litre engine up for sale at a very fair price as well, particularly with the kms ecu and stuff-nice buy for someone.
Spendy-you know you want a proper engine for that golf cart!

no, there is plenty of stuff in the pipeline for the RV8, but doing this instal just tends to slow other things down a bit, I could do with a clone!!I hope some of your other plans wont be scuppered though clive!!

I think its about 90kg, whereas the rv8 is around 150kg.
I`m sure mike will be along after his large breakfast to give the accurate figures
Just had my breakfastI`m sure mike will be along after his large breakfast to give the accurate figures

I've heard all sorts of different figures for both engines to be honest, and best guess is that it's somewhere between 40 and 80kgs lighter.Obviously the induction systems are different, but which weighs more i couldnt guess! My last car weighed 1083 kgs wet, with a third of a tank of fuel, and that car was specced to the hilt with a/c PAS and full leather trim.It will be interesting to see what L110 weighs,as it doesnt have PAS,does have full leather trim, does have a/c and has/will have two seperate exhausts as apposed to the rover set up.
