What is the procedure for rear brake test on TVRs? - is it ok for them to go on the MOT rollers or do they have to do a road test only due to the LSD?

Never roller test an lsd axle...... much like a 4 wheel drive system a taplow meter should be used to test the brakes... only need to drive the car a few yards so a test drive is not needed either...

ETA...... i meant Tapley meter like thus

Out of interest why should they not be tested on the rollers, can the rollers damage the car or does it invalidate the test results in some way?

Braking one wheel whilst the other is still rolling as per the mot brake test is not good for a axle fitted with an lsd differential, can cause damage, prob due to wind up effect i guess, hence the need to use a brake test meter and perform the test on the road instead

May be entirely wrong but reasonably certain that the MOT place I use has independent left and right rollers. So when testing right the left wheel is free to do what it likes. Can’t see how the forces would be anything like as fierce as say standing on the anchors at speed and locking one side while the other is still rotating.

The bloke at my MOT place is also concerned about the LSD buggering his rollers.

May be an excuse for a test drive though!
