I made sure all the previous glue/tape/foam was cleaned off the car, degreased the back of the plate and roughend it slightly and cut the tape down the middle to make a narrow srip so it fitted the ledge.
I use this stuff from Maplins. Waterproof Double Sided Foam Tape

Yep but then you get screw heads showing. The whole Giffith concept is flush, flush, flush for that half-sucked boiled sweet-loook
