Outdoor Protection this Winter.
Discussion
I appreciate that in an ideal world, I would not have my pride and joy exposed to the British Winter if there was an alternative. Occasionally though, needs must.
So, there are plenty of car covers to choose from to protect my car from the typical British Winter whilst parked up outdoors.
Would I be right to say that the best solution is to first cover the car with a 'fitted indoor cover' from a maker who specialise in Griff's, then place a 'general' waterproof cover over the top, say from Halfrauds?
What works best and who do you recommend for the indoor car cover?
I would appreciate any advice. Mark

I wouldn't bother with a fitted indoor cover under a universal outdoor cover. Just go for a Weathershield HP fully tailored cover, I use one indoors and on the odd occassion the Griff gets left outside. Perfect fit and excellent quality cover.

My car lived outdoors and I never covered it, not keen on the potential for paintwork damage on a wet dirty car. But I do have a leven hood cover for really cold or nasty weather and that did the job well and it's held on by trapping the rear in the bootlid and around the wing mirrors, heavy 'leathercloth' type material that doesn't flap around in windy weather.

Thanks to everyone else for the advice.

As far as im consdered the main thing is that the cover breaths. Last thing you want is stagnent damp under the cover.
Failing that, as i wanted to keep my westfeild undercover at uni but dont have a garage i bought a covered trailer.
Parked it the 'wrong way round' and just drive the car in and out when needed. Cost me £900. Its not posh but i keeps it dry and its safe enough on the road.
