Hello fellow Griff owners. Last year I've bought myself a nice 5.2l Grifffith RHD which I now want to convert to LHD to make it more user friendly in Holland. This involves some body modifications, LHD Dash, steering rack....and a lot more.
Has anybody done this before??????, I need a bit of of guidance how to do this without ruining the car. The second question is has somebody got a LHD dash, steering rack, LHD mid console for sale or a hint where to buy the rack and where to rent/ borrow the LHD dash/mid console moulds.
The plan is to strip the car down for chassis/ suspension refurbishment over the next couple of months and then slowly build the car back up with new parts and a blower from SC power for that extra power you occasionally need....... I thought this LHD conversion is something to include in this stripdown as everything is in bits already and for practical reasons. Before I'm getting my old winsurfboard shaping tools out of the dusty box to Shape a LHD Dash I thought it was better to ask for availability of parts first. Thanks Bastian

You might try posting here.

Some of the French owners may have tried it, or know the whereabouts of some parts.

TVR MADS used to organise conversions. Might be worth getting in touch.

In that case, why not sell the RHD and buy a LHD model? I reckon it would be cheaper!

Andy Malpass on the TVRCC forum has converted his Griffith to LHD. He is out in the Philippines and much/all of the work has been carried out by Clive Reed of Zertec fame. The car is currently in Singapore.

Hi again, the reason why I'm not willing to buy a LHD Griffith is mainly because I'm very happy with the mechanics of my car, the 5.2 John Eales engine is excellent with the ACT plenum. This hands on work is also a hobby for me I don't mind spending hours in the Garage as long as it works once finished. I will try to contact Zertec and ask if they are willing to give me some advise. The LHD dash is a bit of an issue by the looks of it. Thanks very much for the tips guys. Bas

I don't think it is really worth it. I have had LHD cars over here and only on a very few occasions has it been a true disadvantage when overtaking, a factor which would more than be made up for by the extra acceleration a Griff gives you over most other cars on the road.

Andy Malpass's conversion has taken over 3 years!

That's mostly down to Clive and Andy continually changing their mind more than the difficulty of the job it's LHD for quite a while now, and I think it's nearer to 5 years yikes
