Mine has been crossed off the present list this year. It hasn't been a good little car, so it gets nothing.

(It had a set of Brembo brakes for its birthday earlier in the month, so I'm not totally ignoring it)

The Route

Ventoux from last year

Now you've watched that, the last 2mins were the start of what I considered one of the very best pieces of road we did. Couldn't understand the smoothed off kerb's you'll have noticed and the prolific use of armco on the way down, couple of epic little flip flop chicanes etc Then I found out why on Youtube . . . this is going the other way and shows you what can be achieved hehe I've got the remainder of our trip down, Simon caught the top of our run.

Seriously, if you ever get the chance, it's an epic little drive.

Ventoux hill climb

All my video is still on DV tapes as I had to borrow a camera and I haven't converted them yet, Simon's finished his, so I need to do mine and get them posted up.

Debating whether to treat myself to solid state recorder for hoons or whether to buy a camcorder and have more options with it. Also want a digital SLR so debating what to do as a camcorder mounted in the car would give better results than the bullet cameras . . .

But essentially, more presents for the Griffith !! Capturing what more people should be doing with theirs and what they're missing hehe

I use a JVC Hard disk camcorder. You can't record to the hard disk when you're on the move because it doesn't like the bumps but you can insert a large SD card which works a treat. For mounting, I've used RAM Mounts. I've not fitted them in the Griff yet because I haven't had it that long but I'm sure there will be a suitable mouting point somewhere.

I used this set-up on my R1 last year around the Alps and got some great video.

I think I'll probably go for a Sony DVR I tape - camcorder as that's what the bullet cam's work best with and doesn't jump even up Turini's bumpier sections. That way I can pick one up cheap and save my money for the SLR. Some reasonable ones on the bay currently and it at least gives me the option of using it video any else as well.

I've got a suction mount good enough for the whole camera as well as the bullet cam so thinking inside windscreen as no roll bar to mount to . . .

I've been looking to see if I can find a nice pre-cat Griff at sensible money but not many about at the moment so what could have been a Christmas pressie could be a New year (late though!) pressie to myself if I can find one ...
