V8 Enhancements manifold gives HP!!
Discussion
Just had one of V8 Enahancement's (Clive F) tuned length stainless manifolds fitted to my precat griff.
To cut a long story short, the car is producing an extra 27 hp since they've been fitted!! This is a 10% gain in power for my Griff. A BIG thanks to both Clive & Jools for fitting them & tweeking the map to suit.
Next stage is to remove the piper 218 cam which according to advice, is notoriously poor at producing power.

Howard`s was the first preserp car to have these fitted, the main change was to reposition the bottom pipe from the swirl pot, it needed rotating 90 degrees, so an aluminium welding job there, and the coolant pipe from the bottom of the rad to the water pump has to be re routed to run outside of the main chassis.
Howard, what do you think of the new exhaust note??

when you say tuned..... I presume you mean the trombone style lookinh exhaust
Thats not a trombone its a euphonomium? thingy (not spelt UFO for sure anyway)

It does look a bit like a Chinese puzzle if you need to remove the manifolds though

Blimey Howard I hope you've had mapped ignition stuck on as well, and that figure is yet to come?

Erm out of mild interest.......Howard, what do you think of the new exhaust note??
(4.3 pre cat) wouldn't mind a few extra ponies. How much and can I keep the flames (and accompanying noises
)? feel free to pm rather than post.
Oh My God, what a difference!!!
Just drove back from Chesterfield & made the following observations:
The exhaust note is a lot 'harder' with a pleasant rasp on the over-run.
The extra 27hp is noticeable, but even more is the additional 50 lb/ft of torque!!
The low rev pick-up is vastly improved.
The engine previously felt a little lazy, now feels very sharp.
All in all, the V8 Enhancements exhaust manifolds along with Jools trickery with the map have combined to totally transform my Griffith.
I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Excellent news!
I love my Griff the way it is.
But ...
I badly want Clifford's manifolds. If this credit snickers fails to materialise in the Spring I'm hoping to be a paying punter.

Sorry, is this manifold only suitable for pre-serpentine engines??Howard, what do you think of the new exhaust note??
What about newer ones?
Thanks....
