Sourcing small spare parts for Gf 500
Discussion
Hi all.
Your help would be much appreciated, oh wise ones
. As with most(all?)TVRs of a certain age, little things fall off / get busted, ie the rubber cap on the roof struts, the metal spring clip on the boot strut, wiper arms, spare tyre cover(endless list)
. Were can I identify these and order them before the Plastic Fantastic aka 'Grunt' starts to look as tatty and unloved as I do
.
Pass on your hard won knowledge so that we may learn.

Hi mate how it going.
I have found most small parts like glove box catch, leds lights, and i also found roof catches for my TVR S3 on there. that is www.rs-components.com
Also breakers can be a good source Douglass Valley I think, usually have a few sad TIVs in so u can get bits of them.
PHer Simpo two also know of another retailer who he gets parts from , cant remember the name of hand
SIMPO what was it called??
Otherwise a good search in this Forum or the Chimeara one as they use much the same parts except 'Golf clubs' part that goes in boot, purely cosmetic i think
Theres a search link in the Nav Bar above.

www.rapidelectronics.co.uk (Sorry for the delay, curved yellow fellow....) The usual thing that goes AWOL is the black vinyl bag for the roof panel - but as it's not on your list I guess you have it?
Simpo,
Sure you've got shares in rapid
They did the trick though and you can download an online catalogue if you've got a good enough inet connection.
www.frost.co.uk are pretty good aswell for restoration bits, still yet to do my chassis but I have it on good authority that the POR15 provides permanent rust prevention.
Also mod-wise has a few bits to improve some TVR "features".
And lastly if you haven't already got it Steve Heaths manual.
cheers

Nice one, chaps
. Thanks for all the help. This is an excellent site, very friendly and very knowledgable. Surely TVR owners must be the luckiest. I waited 10 years to get my Griff and I have never had more fun, burned so much adrenaline, laid more rubber, scared myself sh*tless and got so many smiles and thumbs-up from perfect strangers. I'm keeping mine forever!
