Either the engine or gearbox is coming out so I figure that while there it would be sensible to change the 50kish clutch. Hoping for a bit more torque with some planned mods so is the standard part OK or should I go for perhaps an organic one. Heliax has been recommended, two types one is good for 365Nm and the other 416Nm. My guess is that the greater it’s capacity the heavier the pedal and the more on/off it will be. Advice gratefully received.

Oh, also what size is the standard 500 clutch ?

I`d only buy the borg and beck one from tvr car parts or power,, not cheap at around £330 but will last much longer than the cheaper ones as the 500 will just chew them up an spit em out.yes

V8 Developments have one made for them.

I have one. It's a big improvement over the original. Lighter and handles far more power.

John Eales also has one which is rated for 500 lb/ft torque (I believe its a modified AP clutch) Its a bit heavier than std. and has a slightly more aggressive bite, but otherwise is perfectly driveable on road.
Price was about the same as a std clutch from a TVR dealer as well

I have the heavy duty Helix one and have to say its been great. It's a bit more on/off than the original but doesn't cause any problems, it is a bit heavier though but I find it fine even in traffic - seems to handle the power without any problem so does what it says on the tin I guess!

The one I have just bought has a Cerb AP clutch in it. It is quite heavy but not unpleasantly so. It was done at Austec

However on the basis that I am only picking up the car this weekend I am not best qualified to suggest either pros or cons of such a setup...

I have the V8D helix clutch too. It only did a handful of miles before the diff broke, so I can't comment on how long it will last. But my experience is positive so far - about the same weight as standard and it feels much better.
