Discussion
Hi everyone,
I got 1996 Griffith 500 back last week, for some major open wallet surgery, and I couldn't resist posting some pictures, as well as giving praise to the people who worked on my Griff.
Heres what I had done... (big breath and..)
New Gaz adjustable suspension
New ACT induction kit
New silicon hose kit
New stainless steel pipe kit
New manifolds
New diff bush, both rear wheel bearings,
Full 12k service
Rustproof chasis
New 73mm inlet plenum
ACT 45mm carbon trumpet base
FSE fuel regulator
New distrubtor and magnacore leads
New alloy radiator
Full bare body respray in Red Glow Pearl
Complete new carpets and mats
Change to Tuscan seats and re-trimmed to match
Complete new roof and conversion to 2 part panel system including new cream leather trim underneath
Re-trim in cream leather on center tunnel, roof, gaiters, visors and hoop etc
I think that's most of the work, oh almost forgot, fixed the interior light!
Took it out for the first time yesterday, and its like sitting in a new car!
All excellent work done by the following:
Andrew at Surface and design, Blackpool
Chris at D & C Trim, Blackpool
Richard at Track V Road, Blackpool
All really helpful, high quality work and excellent customer service, I couldn't recommend them enough.
Here's a few pictures for you.

I have to say it wasn't cheap, some areas more expensive than others.
D & C trim are pretty good price wise, especially for the quality of materials and standard of work.
At the end of the day, i live in NE Scotland, and since I had to trust the people with the car down south, I wanted to make sure of the reputation and experience of the people doing the work. All the guys I used came to me as recommendations and all worked with each other to sort out the refurbishment, and if the final result and organisation as great, then it's worth it.
that saying, I think I negotiated some pretty good prices.....

Looks fantastic. I particularly like the look of the job done on the roof.
Any more photo's of it ? Mine's half done (well 2 halves
) and I'm considering the options for re-trimming before I finish.
I will take some more pictures of the roof tommorow, and post them for you.Any more photo's of it ? Mine's half done (well 2 halves

Going to get the wife to modify my roof bag to take both panels, so that I can keep it clean!

I like that, I like it a lot.
Is there any loss or gain in headroom or legroom with those seats? Do you sit higher, or lower?
Would it leave more, or less room behind it for a roll bar?
Were they made for TVR, or did they originally come from another car?
The seats came out of Bellhill Garage, water damaged from a Tuscan, originally in dark blue but perfect for a retrim! Is there any loss or gain in headroom or legroom with those seats? Do you sit higher, or lower?

I had them recovered in cream leather with red stitching to match the rest of the car.
height wise, they are very slightly higher, but I am just over 6'0 and fit in fine. Much better support in the twisties, lumbar adjustment and much easier to adjust both back and front as well as nice alloy bits for seat back movement.
I am about a roll bar, they are a little deeper so may cause some conflict, but it would probably depend on your roll bar design. they are also a bit wider, so if you try and slide them too far forward they get close to the tunnel.
Hope this helps
