I`m after a picture of the bellhousing/gearbox(T5) if anyone has one, in particular the part I need to see is the stud that screws into the bellhousing, and somehow connects to the gearstick linkage arm.

I`m not describing this very well am I.

basically when you change gear, the gearstick is connected to a linkrod, one end of this obviously connected into the gearbox, the other on the bellhousing acts as a support to the linkage, its this part that is missing on my car, and the new bellhousing to fit the ajp doen`t havr onesmile so I need to make one up and fit, phew, clear as mud!hehe

edited to add I think it must be some sort of rose joint contraption.just need to see one so as to make one up.

I haven't got an idea, but a diagram would help, something like like:

evilhehe

is that the bit sticking up top / back that you're on about?

thanks Jon, top man, definately the rosejoint with the rod in the centre of it, it must have broke off when I took the engine out, but no trace of it on the floor anywhere, the stud part of the thread was still in the bellhousing.

at least I can now work out the correct position for it, and drill and tap the bellhousing to suit, as the ajp housing does`nt have one, which is strange, unless the cerbs run a different arrangement, perhaps the gearstick goes directly into the box on the cerb so the linkage part isn`t needed.

thanks Guys.!thumbup

Yes I'm sure I've heard before that the Cerb doesn't use the linkage that is seen on the Chim and Griff for that exact reason.

It's more of a slippery shaft Spend! Important to make sure it mounts the chassis in the correct manner. Got it wrong on our first attempt and bent me shaft! Which made my knob really stiff. A few thwacks with the hammer sorted that out smile

Yup, shifter on the cerb goes straight into the box (hence the sweeter shift action wink )

Except on the speed six Cerbs which use a remote linkage.

When we put a t5 box in car.... we used a gear box out of a tuscan, which ment the gear leaver came up in the right position internaly, thus doing away with the retrim people had talked about....
