I dont think there is any difference between the pipercross or the k &n filters, the smoothbore pipes are worthwhile,IMHO its worth wrapping them in bubble wrap and then putting the heat reflective material over the top so as to keep the air as cool as possible in the intake pipe, another very worthwhile mod is buy the magna parva insulator plate that sits between the trumpet base and the inlet manifold, this helps to reduce the heat transfer from the engine into the plenum.
