Only had the Griff for a couple of weeks and noticed that it seems to be misfiring at about 2k rpm. It seems to hesitate slightly when on an even throttle but I cant tell whether this is misfiring or bad mapping. It has a Dave andrews chip, otherwise standard. Could a worn camshaft also give symptoms like this?

Mike

Yes it could, but so could many other things frown Like a wire broken inside the insulation on the low tension side of the coil, must've been butting up & only breaking down intermittently

Or a knackered or substandard rotor arm. Cheap and simple to change (or even borrow)
Same goes for the whole HT side of things really (dizzy cap, spark plug extensions, HT leads)

i had same sort of thing after an engine rebuild,
i would replace the ignition amp (if fitted) as it is a sealed unit and for a tenner it will eliminate a possible cause
