I am sadly about to loose my covered parking space for my griff and will have to leave it exposed to the elements in future. Any advise on a cover to protect my pride and joy from the elements would be much appriciated.

I'm not convinced about these outdoor car covers. The previous owner gave me one which he'd used for a year or two and was nearing the end of its life. It was mid January when I bought it so still had the worst of the weather to come. I used both the leven hood cover and the all-over cover. It certainly remained dry and no trouble with leaks. When I had it detailed in the April the guy said it had obviously been under covers for some time as the scuffing was significant. Until he'd pointed it out I hadn't really noticed it.
The next year I bought a new cover in the hope that it might improve matters - I only used the full cover if heavy rain/snow/frost was forecast, otherwise just used the leven cover. It was not as bad but after a few months it was obvious where the cover had been.
This winter I prepared it well by giving it a good clean, claying, polish and several waxes in October and no cover except the leven when snow was forecast - of which there's been a lot. It was looking a bit tired a few weeks ago as it'd not been properly cleaned since, but last weekend I gave it a proper clean/polish/wax and it's looking pretty good.
I don't have a garage and not likely to have one in the foreseeable future but I'd rather leave mine open to the elements than put a cover on again.
Bear in mind I live in the South in a fairly sheltered area.

I'm the same as LG.
I have a cover that I used to put on while it was in the garage. (just a dust cover)
I think I put more marks on the body by putting the cover on and taking it off.
The cover is now "stored" in the loft rolleyes

As I dont have a garage my chim lives on the drive under a cover, has done for nearly 5 years now with no problems. My paint isnt rubbing off, I dont have scratches or marks etc. As long as you buy the right breathable cover with a soft lining you will be fine.

If you buy a cover I'd recommend a breathable indoor/outdoor one. They tend to be softer and less likely to rub the paintwork. Also the waterproof outdoor ones can suffer from condensation which makes the waterproof bit a pointless.

My Griff has had a high quality breathable cover on it for the last 4 years, although it is stored inside now. I bought it initially as it was in a car port for a couple of years and the rain blew in. It's been fine and still is as new, apart from being dirty on the outside which suggests it has done its job. I bought a cheaper version for the other half's MGB. It's definately not so good quality and tore easily when it caught on the bumper.

Final point to consider, if you put a cover on a dirty car it is always likely to damage the paint over time.
