That's mine matey! Actually it belongs to a finance company but I get to drive it most of the time....
It's in the shop at the moment getting a few things sorted before the 22nd Nov.
There is a 'Driver Training Day' put on by the Lotus car club at Wakefield Park. I still belong because my last car was an Elise, and there is no way there is enough TVR's in Oz to form a club...
email me if you are interested in coming along. God I'm looking forward to having my first unrestricted blast in that car.....

This is my first post and I feel a touch guilty having been an avid reader for almost two years.
There are quite a few TVR's in OZ. I am located in Melbourne where there is a 'real' TVR service centre and I know of 3 Chims and 2 Griffs.
My Griff 500 and a Chim were imported in Feb 02 are the only two cars which have been fully complianced and registered in Australia. (ie. full engineering approval through DOT in Canberra.)
When I get a moment I will post some pictures of my Griff 500. The car has so far been to Philip Island, Winton and Sandown for track days and this week end will be entered in the Geelong Speed trials along with a lot of other classic cars(Qtr Mile sprints.)....

hey, nice to meet you Dave. Now I don't want to say this just to be contrary, but think about what you said for a sec.... there are heaps of Tivs in Oz?
Taken from personal observations, I have seen more Ferraris, Masers, Astons, and even bloody Lambos on the road than I have Tivs. I don't particulary want to feel <that> special, after a couple of interesting incidents (only had it since June) I worry that something simple can put me off the road for months. Like the total impossibility of replacing the mirrors when broken by some b*stard.
In your defence, I have seen red, silver and green chims, and an older Tiv at a track day... but I've never seen another one actually mobile!
Anyway, I hope I don't sound too argumentative. I get to Melb every now and again, would it be ok for me to come have a look at your carriage some time? Have you had any mods done? What colour is she? Have you had it since new? Any quality issues?
OK guys (er people..) any more Australians lurking out there? Who fancies getting together for a beer?

I'm up for that.
I also have to admit to being Australian and lurking here occasionally... I own a 4.5 Cerbera RR in Sydney. It's been here since July. I know there are two Cerberas in SA and one in WA. I believe there is a Tuscan in WA and I know of a guy that owns two griffs in Sydney.
I've never actually seen another TVR on the road here, but I have spoken to several people that have. I think there are enough TVRs in Australia to form a club (in fact the TVRCC is active in WA); the biggest problem is the distance between the cities. So, something nationwide would be almost impossible, except maybe an annual gathering. I enjoyed the TVR club scene in Britain when I was there and I miss that in Australia. It would be great to get something happening in south eastern Australian.
Colin.
I'm very happy to be wrong about the number of TVR's here...
I've just come back from the trackday (see my other post about suspension that I'm just about to write)
Does anyone want to start something, or should we piggyback on the Lotus club for our get -togethers? I ask because I had a lot of support from the Lotus guys, they are quite interested in other marques, in fact quite a few are PH'ers. There are a lot of non Lotus clubmans (7 replicas) and they are quite a sporting oriented club.
Quite a few pugs too....
Sorry I'm a bit distracted at the moment, the Rugby final is on!

just to add to this, saw a very, very clean metallic Blue Tuscan heading up "Griffith St" (no really!) in Perth, off Gt Eastern Highway, the other day, yum. Shame he was sticking to the speed limit.
Also there is a restored, red 280i, Taimar and a few chimps and Griffs here too,
and contrary to previous posts, there IS a club here, just look at the overseas section of the club mag for contact details.

just read your post from Nov - glad you enjoyed the rugby. Was the griff dark blue with the OZ cross spokes? If so its a '92 4.3 owned by a mate of mine. He also has a BRG 500 model.
I own a Cerbera in Perth....luckily with air con - its 38 degrees today!
There are about 50-60 Tivs that we know about in Australia and are trying to organise a bit of a meet-up helfway between Sydney and Melbourne for a week of fun. cheers

The twisites are good between Batemans Bay and Canberra.
Once you get to Canberra the covoy up to Parliment House would be amazing.
You could also get in some brilliant photos since you can park right outside Parliment house.
The road that goes from Canberra to Sydney (Memorial drive? Would also be good for a fast safe blast.

the sydney posse were going to meet up with the melbourne posse at Albury Wodonga where a geezer with a Grantura lives. Thinking of doing it in the AUTUMN like may or so. Aparently its halfway between the two places but I wouldnt know being a mere sandgroper from the West.
Anyone going to the GP in March??

Hi there Nick & Co
I'm the new owner of the silver Chimaera 500 spotted by some of you in the Sydney area.
I live in Adelaide, and have just been through the full compliance exercise with my new toy.
I'd certainly like to register my interest in joining a club or otherwise getting together with a few likeminded (eccentric?) people for a big drive and show off.
If any of you visit Adelaide (preferably in your TVR!), let me know and we'll meet up.
Cheers

PS I notice the owner of the blue Tuscan in WA is a PH member. My mate over there lives nearby and is drooling at the prospect of a promised ride.
