door adjustment
Discussion
Hi all, just getting the Griff ready for the summer. Thought I would sort out my gappy drivers window that wont seal, spent some time last year trying to adjust the quarter light and window but looking at the door, its low at the front compared to the passenger side, I have slackened off the two bolts for the top hinge but can’t get any adjustment there, can someone point me in the right direction please.
there are 2 bolts at the top and 2 bolts at the bottom, you`ll have to pull the carpet back to find them, slacken them off, grab jhold of the end of the door and yank it upwards, it should then be free to move up and down.
getting it set at the right hieght can be very hit and miss and time consuming, in the end I found the easiest way is to remove the roof, close the door, then climb in with your head down in the footwell and nip up the bolts, you may find that it drops a little after doing this, so, to compensate, slacken the 3 cap head bolts that are in the car body that hold the door lock in place, and raise it slightly, tighten up, go over the same proceedure for the hinges, then slacken and lower the lock back to where it was, hopefully it should now be at the correct hieght/gap, and door should close smoothly.
hope it helps and makes sense
