Bonnet catch

I know it's probably done to death but I'm a newbie.

All of a sudden, my bonnet won't click on the latch. I've tried everything and although it looks well lined up, it simply wont secure properly. Any suggestions?

Might need greasing - especially the cable. Have you tried to operate it by just pulling the release from inside the engine bay?
What happens if you stick a screwdriver into the catch and try to press it shut?

I've tried activating the catch with a screw driver but still it would not click shut......
Any other suggestions?

The handle that you pull to open it - makes sure it's pushed back into place, I think they are supposed to be sprung but mine isn't, so pull to open and push back to close.

Thanks all. Gopher, pretty sure I've already done that but will male sure it's fully home. Maybe the bonnet catch is out of line or something..

When this happened to mine I spent ages 'fiddling' After turning the bit of rubber on the bonnet lid spigot ie. the part that goes into the female catch, that fixed it!
